The Mess Tent Poutinerie
The Mess Tent Poutinerie is a registered business, owned and operated by Ms. Christine McNeil, a 13-year veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces, and we operate in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. We are the first fast food establishment in the province of NL & Lab to focus on Newfoundland military history while providing gourmet fast foods to residents and tourists alike.
A WWII Experience
Enjoy eating locally grown and sourced fresh farmers’ market produce, meat, and fresh seasonal seafood whenever possible. With our unique environment, customers will feel as though they have been transported to a similar WWII field unit environment complete with sights, sounds, artifacts, military paraphernalia & gear, historical facts and photos. Experience the opportunity to eat gourmet poutine on dishware and utensils like the ones WWII soldiers were issued on the front lines.
Our History
Ms. Christine McNeil purchased the former Flambro Head Heritage Society building and surrounding land in Lower Island Cove, NL in July 2022.The Mess Tent Poutinerie Inc. is a new fast food poutinerie start-up unique to the Conception Bay North area in NL & Lab. Unique in that The Mess Tent Poutinerie Inc. will be the first quick service food establishment in the province of NL & Lab to combine gourmet fast food, Newfoundland military history and the tourism industry. No other food venue in this local geographical area provides such complementary catalysts as local residents augmented with tourists to the island, Newfoundland military history, and gourmet poutine with an emphasis on traditional Newfoundland cuisine supported by locally grown vegetables.
